First Look: 2025 Ram 2500 Cummins – Power, Precision, and Finally the Transmission It Deserves
By Black Market Performance

At Black Market Performance, we’ve built our name on enhancing diesel trucks—but we’re just as excited when the OEMs start stepping up their game. The 2025 Ram 2500 Cummins is one of those rare models where factory performance takes a real leap forward, and we're here for it.

ZF 8-Speed Transmission: A Game Changer

The biggest standout in our first drive? The all-new ZF 8-speed automatic transmission. Compared to the outgoing 68RFE, this transmission is in a completely different league.

  • Shifts are smooth and responsive, but still firm under load.

  • It holds gears longer, keeping you in the powerband when you need it—especially climbing hills.

  • No more gear hunting or hesitation—something 68RFE owners know all too well.

This ZF unit brings a much-needed update to the Ram HD line and finally pairs the Cummins with a transmission that can keep up with the torque.

The New 6.7L Cummins: Refined and Responsive

While the Cummins 6.7 platform has always been known for reliability and torque, earlier models could feel sluggish—especially when compared to competition. That’s no longer the case.

The 2025 Cummins feels noticeably more responsive, especially off the line. Mid-range torque delivery is strong and consistent, and throttle response is much sharper. It’s clear Ram and Cummins have worked together to refine this engine, and the result is a truck that feels as powerful as it is on paper.

What’s Next: Aftermarket Innovation

We’re already diving into development for this new platform—scanning, testing, and CAD-designing parts that will take the 2025 Cummins even further. From transmission upgrades to intake and fueling improvements, you can expect Black Market Performance to be at the forefront with performance solutions built for this next-gen truck.

Stay tuned—we’ve got big plans for the 2025 Ram 2500 Cummins. And as always, every part we make is proudly built in the USA, right here in our St. George, Utah facility.
